Fibre

A fibre is a linear, elementary structure with a ratio of length to diameter of minimum 3:1. This value can though be over 1000:1. [source: Wikipedia]

Difference in filtering technology are:

  1. Fibres (filaments) as main elements of filter media
  2. Fibres as good to be separated. Fibres can be separated very good, though generally formpellets or other similar macroscopic strutures that are difficult to clean and discharged (bridge building). See angel hair and fibre dust
